Following a career in academic research and government geological survey work on a wide array of projects in South Africa and Canada, Ron joined the Equity team as a Project Geologist in 2011. Ron has applied his project management and geoscience skillset to exploration for diverse deposit types at various stages of the exploration cycle.

As Equity’s Director (Geoscience), Ron provides input and oversight on geological interpretation and targeting across Equity’s active projects, while also taking responsibility for the review and assessment of technical deliverables.

Significant Projects

KZK Project, YUKON CANADA

Co-managed prefeasibility-level work program on a VMS deposit that included 19,000 m of drilling (resource, exploration, geotechnical) and expenditure of over $10M.

Detour trend Project, quebec CANADA

Managed year-round exploration work on the Detour Trend projects from 2013-2015, with focus on orogenic gold and VMS occurrences. Work included 50,000 m of exploration and resource drilling, as well as extensive geophysical and geochemical surveys.

south coast mapping project, kwazulu-natal, south africa

Completed 1:50,000 bedrock mapping of complexly deformed rocks within the Natal Metamorphic Province as part of the Council for Geoscience statutory mapping program.

geometallurgical research, university of johannesburg, south africa

Determined the horizontal and vertical variability of platinum group minerals within a segment of the UG2 chromitite (Bushveld complex) at Two Rivers Platinum Mine, resulting in three publications.
