Murray joined Equity in 1997 and has over 35 years of experience in mineral exploration. Over this time, he has developed expertise in orogenic gold, volcanogenic massive sulphide and IOCG deposits. Murray continues to be driven by the diverse opportunities of the mineral exploration industry.

In addition to the variety of challenges that come with the Senior Project Geologist role, Murray’s primary motivations are his involvement in advancing new projects and working in new geological environments. His depth of experience make him a valued resource for guiding and mentoring younger geologists.

Significant Projects

Fairchild Project, Yukon, Canada

Large iron-oxide Cu-Au (IOCG) project which saw over $6 million spent on exploration from 1992 to 1997, project geologist from acquisition to introduction of JV partner, continued as geologist to second round of drilling on several of the properties, totalling four field seasons.

RDN Project, british Columbia, Canada

As project geologist, completed several comprehensive geological, geophysical, and diamond drilling programs over three years with over $3 million total budget, identified and evaluated a felsic volcanic package with potential for Eskay-style, volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits.

Harker Gold Project, Ontario, Canada

Completed initial project compilation and mapping on the Harker Gold Project, Ontario within the Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone. This work led to diamond drilling on several structural and lithologic targets and the project eventually developed into the Holloway Gold Mine.

Pt. Leamington, Newfoundland, Canada

Volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit (VMS) in prospective terrane in central Newfoundland, project geologist, coordinated compilation of previous work in digital format, modified 3-D model of deposit, identified targets and conducted diamond drilling program to look for extensions to known deposit, lithogeochemical and stratigraphic interpretation.
