Fernando started his career in mineral exploration in 2016, primarily involved in remote greenfields projects in the Canadian Territories. He joined Equity in 2020 and, just a year later, assumed the role of Project Geologist helping to manage a multi-drill exploration program in a producing mine. His exposure to different stages of mineral exploration and involvement in various deposit types makes him an asset to the team.

Fernando has a collaborative approach to management, aiming to empower people in his team while maintaining a client-first approach. By focussing on high quality project management, he ensures that the needs of our clients are met at every stage of the planning and execution process.

Significant Projects

RED CHRIS MINE, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA

Co-managed a 20-person exploration team at the Red Chris Cu-Au Porphyry mine. Responsible for executing all aspects of the exploration, resource definition, and geotechnical drill program.

OSIRIS Project, YUKON, Canada

Core logging and interpretation on Canada's first discovery of Carlin-type gold mineralization. Trained fellow geologists and geotechnicians.

CARMACKS PROJECT, YUKON, CANADA

Part of the 2017 exploration and resource expansion drill program that advanced the brownfields Carmacks Cu-Au-Ag project. First aid attendant for the project.

COFFEE GOLD PROJECT, YUKON, CANADA

Responsible for management of RC and diamond drilling. Work also included RC chip loggiing, data compliation, writing, and presentation of technical reports.
